Grant request guidelines:
Who can apply for Greendale Education Foundation Grants?
Current employees of the Greendale School District
What kind of projects can be funded?
Projects that are aligned with the curricular goals and/or the strategic plan goals of the Greendale School District
Are there dollar limits?
There are no specific dollar limits. The amount will be based in part on the amount of dollars available and the potential impact of the project. The project should not take the place of any program currently being funded.
How do I apply?
Applicants must complete a Grant Application Form in its entirety, stating the project's budget, objectives, staff involved, timeline, and expected outcomes.
When can I apply?
The Foundation has established three grant cycles -- September, February, and May. Applications must be received no later than the first day of these months in order to be considered for approval at the subsequent Board meeting. A grant application may be submitted up to six months prior to the cycle for which it is intended.
What criteria will be used to evaluate applications?
Greendale Education Foundation Board members will review applications and make awards based on the project's alignment with curricular goals and/or the District's strategic plan/goals as well as consistency with the Foundation's mission and available funds.
How will I know if my grant is approved?
Applicants will be notified in writing within one week following the meeting at which the Board voted.
Applicants should propose their project and its objectives to a Curriculum Facilitator, Principal, or Director for review prior to completing the application to ensure the potential project is appropriate for the Foundation's grant program and isn't currently being funded elsewhere. Applicants must fill out a Grant Application form in its entirety, stating the project's objectives, staff involved, timeline, and expected outcomes.
Grant applications must be submitted no later than the first day of the established grant cycle months -- November, February, May -- in order to be considered for approval at the subsequent Baord meeting. A grant application maybe submitted up to six months prior to the cycle for which it is intended.
Grant awards are voted upon and approved by the full Board based on the Grant Committee's review and recommendations. (The Grant Committee is empowered to approve grants under $500 without a vote of the full board, if funds are available.) Grants will be awarded in conjunction with regularly scheduled Board meetings. Applicants will be notified of the Board's decision in writing within one week following the meeting at which the Board voted.
Grant recipients are required to submit a brief written progress report, including an accounting of expenditures and an evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the program, within six months of implementation of the grant to the Grant Committee. Failure to do so may result in denial of future grant requests. The Board reserves the right to monitor the progress of a project any time during the grant period.
